ATTENTION-DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)
“It feels like I have 100 tabs open on my computer and everything needs my attention all at once.”
“I feel so misunderstood all the time.”
If you have ADHD, the quotes above might resonate with you. Maybe you were diagnosed in childhood, or maybe this is a new diagnosis that you’ve discovered in adulthood. In either case, ADHD manages to inch into every aspect of your life. It’s not just about focus/lack of focus; it’s so much more. Sometimes it’s an asset and sometimes it can make tackling day-to-day tasks a little more complicated.
If you are an adult newly diagnosed with ADHD, you may feel a mixture of emotions ranging from overwhelmed, relieved, misunderstood, and even grief. Perhaps your new diagnosis is causing you to reflect on all the times you were lectured or punished without really being understood in the past. With your new diagnosis, not only do you need to learn how to best manage your symptoms, you may also have to navigate a simultaneous journey of mourning your past.
If you were diagnosed with ADHD in childhood, you are likely more familiar with your symptoms. However, you might still need additional support and perhaps, accountability to jump start new goals or manage your day-to-day. Or, maybe you just need a safe, confidential place to lay down your overwhelm.
Whatever goals or needs you have with ADHD, I can partner with you to organize, motivate, and process your experience in a way that uniquely works for you.
